Tied for second in 1978 PGA Championship. 39 PGA TOUR victories and a 10-time winner on the Champions Tour including the 2007 Senior British Open, the third time he had won the event. In 2003, he was the Champions Tour Player of the Year with victories at the Senior British Open and the Tradition. 1977, 1981, 1983 and 1989 Ryder Cup Teams Captain in 1993. Recipient of the 1987 Bob Jones Award presented by the USGA for distinguished sportsmanship in golf. Also given Payne Stewart and Card Walker awards. Making his 35th Masters appearance.
