Holed out from the bunker for birdie at No. 18 Sunday to earn the runner-up spot. On the PGA TOUR, was runner-up three times last year. In 2005, captured the South African Airways Open in his native country. Also a winner at the Barclays Scottish Open in 2005 and was a member of the International squad at the Presidents Cup. Winner of the 2002 South African Open where he entered the field after qualifying earlier in the week. Also in 2002 was the South African Tour Order of Merit winner. First played in Augusta in 1998 after capturing the 1997 Public Links title. 1997 ACC Player of the Year from NC State. Seventh Masters appearance.
