History - The Trophy Case

Winners and Runners-up

Winners and Runners-up at Augusta National have their names inscribed on the silver Masters Trophy. They also receive distinctive awards many people never see.

Silver and Gold for the Winner

After slipping into the green coat awarded to all champions, winners also receive a sterling silver replica of the Masters trophy depicting the historic Clubhouse. First given to Bernhard Langer in 1993, it took the place of a bas-relief plaque that had been awarded to champions since 1961. The replica, 10 inches across, weighs 12 pounds, about 120 less than the original. Champions also receive a gold medallion (13.4 inches in diameter, 2.3 ounces) featuring a view of the Founders Circle in front of the Clubhouse.

Rewards for the Runner-Up

The runner-up also receives a 1.7 ounce silver medallion showing the Clubhouse from the Founders Circle off Magnolia Lane. It is the same size as the winner's gold medallion.
