Everything is green here. The grass is green. The trees are green. The tickets, the press passes, the stanchions, the signs; all green. The garbage bags are green. The big leader boards are trimmed in green. And the little leader boards use green printing. The jacket given to the winner is green. The pimento sandwiches are wrapped in green wax paper. The carpeting is green. Even one of the players is Green. (Richard, from Australia which is also known as Oz, which was The Emerald City). The spectator traffic lanes are stenciled onto the fairway in green. Forest green to stand out from the grass green. And if you look, you’ll find Jerry Kelly green and sage green and lime and spinach and pea and pine and moss and jade and olive and colors that haven’t even been named yet green. The local Single A baseball team is called the Augusta Greenjackets. This place is Chlorophyll City. And green means go. Forty-three hours and counting 'till liftoff.
