Practice Makes Perfect
Thursday, April 10, 2008

Hey Danny S. in Mill Valley. In answer to your question about practice tees. The early part of the week is set aside for practice rounds and every invitee to the tournament can work out the times in advance. For instance, Tiger went out early on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday tuning up with 9 on the last day and 18 the first two. Some golfers choose to go out alone and some hook up with friends. I saw a foursome of Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus and the two Germans, Langer and Kaymer have a lot of fun and joke around with each other. When today’s start was postponed due to fog, Ian Poulter went back to the chipping green and hit ten to fifteen minutes worth of extra bunker shots and chips and then hit the range to loosen up again. It seems to have worked.
