Tiger Being Tiger

To: Fred B, Canada; Andrew J, China; al m, TX; all drama addicted golfers in the blogosphere.

Re: Tiger’s Chances …

Fred spoke of the Tiger affect. Andrew reminded us that 60% of green jackets in the past 10 years have been won by someone other than Woods.

Al simply predicted Tiger will shoot 66-68 and we can all go home.

Well, it’s on, and after Phil Mickelson clanked a wedge off the No. 8 flagstick, then three-putted for bogey, and Retief Goosen drilled a 246-yard fairway wood into No. 13 to set up an 8-foot eagle putt, Masters’ moving day kicked into high gear.

Oh, and Woods just made par from the trees on No. 18, putting the final touch on a 68 that took him to 5-under-par and guaranteed a sizzling finish Sunday.

“I put myself right back in the tournament,” Woods said. “This was as high a score as I could have shot today, and if I have a few more putts go in, I’m right there. I’m still right there, anyway.”

Good call, Al.
